The idea and concept for Low Tide Surf Club started long before we got to where we are now and to be honest we never thought we'd get to this point. L T S C consists of three friends who love surfing and luckily are pretty good with our hands. Growing up surfing in Cornwall is definitely not glamourous, it's cold, wet and inconsistent compared to most of the world. So, it takes a pretty committed person to continual surf, especially throughout the depths of winter, but for the few that choose this path it creates a bond that lasts a lifetime, and for us it has molded and shaped us into the people we are today.
Growing up as surf rats spending all summer at the beach, waking up before school in winter to get in the water in pitch dark just to get a few waves as the sun came up, everything revolved around the ocean. Typically though none of us had any money for surfboards, wetsuits, or fixing dings and knocks, naturally this meant we had to get creative and use what we could get our hands on. It started off just fixing cracks and dings only using the tools we found in the shed, then, overtime and as our confidence grew we started making our first boards taking two broken surfboards and Frakenstein-ing them together. They were definitely not pretty, definitely not good, but we didn't care we felt like Kings!
Fast forward a good few years and we're still doing pretty much the same thing we were at 15 years old, surfing, shaping and revolving our lives around the ocean. Creating our own company was always in the plan, going from shaping and fixing in our shed, to renting our workshop and creating our retail space was natural progression. But, we had to put our all into making sure this worked, there was never a plan B for us. In a nutshell that's OUR STORY three blokes from the north coast of Cornwall making mighty fine surfboards, so go order yourself one and we'll see you out there!
